At Safe Refuge, we believe everyone deserves the chance to recover from addictions to alcohol or drugs and so our programs are open to the population at large – not just those financially able to fund their own recovery. We also serve clients with combined mental health and addiction issues (co-occurring disorders).
Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Must have knowledge of recovery and supportive services for persons with substance abuse issues.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, homelessness and substance abuse related issues is preferred.
- Must possess basic knowledge, skills and abilities in office automation equipment and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet applications.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
- Pass an extensive background check, including criminal history
- Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States
Duties:
- Oversee all residential clients by ensuring the facilities are secure at all times and reporting and handling all incidents as they occur.
- Handle any and all emergency responses according to agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain log of all activities and incidents that occur during shift.
- Maintain and report any-and-all safety issues within the facility to the Facility Director and Maintenance department.
- Conduct housing unit searches and inspections & client resident “count” as assigned without exception.
- Conduct Urinalysis testing, as required.
- Work with parole, probation, and DPSS personnel, as needed.
- Maintain client confidentiality and ensure HIPAA rules, regulations, policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Must participate in all agency training’s, which include training in laws of confidentiality, resident rights and general knowledge of Title 9 regulations.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, personnel files and internal communications.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Essential Function:
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function required of this position.
Supervisory Relationship:Work under the supervision of the Facilities Director.
Physical Abilities:
- Frequetly move throughout buildings, including regularly walking up and down stairs.
- Communicate clearly and often with clients and coworkers, both verbally and/or in writing, including emails.
- Visually identify potential hazards from a distance and accurately report or communicate those hazards.
- Regularly use a computer and standard office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, telephone, printer and copier.
Personal Qualities:
Must have a high degree of sensitivity to the agency's target populations, including substance abusers/users, correctional populations, persons with HIV/AIDS, LGBT community, the homeless, indigent and those with co-occurring disorders.
This position is not benefits-eligible. However, part-time employees are eligible for 40 hours of sick time and may participate in the company’s 401(k) plan.
