American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on an ADTU unit, requiring at least 18 months of Med/Tele experience and the ability to float across multiple regional facilities.

Works in the Acute Diagnostic and Treatment Unit (ADTU), a 12-bed Med/Tele overflow area supporting all inpatient units and ED holding
-
Patient population includes diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, chest pain workup, stroke symptoms, and respiratory issues
-
RN-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6, with critical surge ratios of 1:7–8
-
12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

No on-call requirements

Floating is required to all units within scope at this facility, as well as to other facilities within the assigned region — candidates who are not agreeable to multi-facility floating should not apply

EMR: Epic (experience required)

IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; patient monitors: Philips

Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year

Proficiency in general Med/Tele skills including stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, PCA pumps)

Experience managing medication drips including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Facility is a 207-licensed-bed hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designation; not a trauma or teaching facility
-
Unit support includes CNAs, HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team (11 AM–7 PM and 11 PM–7 AM), respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist coverage
-
A home unit will be assigned on the first day of orientation; orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental training

Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays

Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any missed contracted hours must be made up at the end of the contract

Scheduling cycles occur every 6 weeks

Scrub color: Navy; free parking available

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
