This position is responsible for ensuring every vehicle is retail-ready quickly, efficiently, and to our dealership’s standards.
Position Summary
The Reconditioning & Cosmetic Operations Manager is responsible for managing the complete cosmetic reconditioning process from the moment a vehicle is purchased until it is frontline ready.
This includes overseeing detailing, paintless dent repair (PDR), paint and body work, wheel repair, windshield replacement, interior repair, upholstery, odor removal, touch-up, photography readiness, and overall merchandising quality.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, communicates effectively with vendors and internal departments, and refuses to allow vehicles to sit waiting on cosmetic work.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire cosmetic reconditioning process for all incoming inventory.
- Ensure vehicles are detailed, repaired, photographed, and frontline-ready as quickly as possible.
- Coordinate and schedule outside vendors including:
- Detail
- Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)
- Paint & Body
- Wheel Repair
- Windshield Replacement
- Interior & Leather Repair
- Upholstery
- Tint
- Paint Touch-Up
- Perform quality inspections before vehicles are merchandised for sale.
- Establish and maintain dealership cosmetic standards.
- Monitor vehicle aging and prioritize work to maximize inventory turn.
- Track reconditioning costs and help maintain department budgets.
- Work closely with the Purchasing, Service, Sales, and Photography teams to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Hold vendors and employees accountable for quality, timeliness, and workmanship.
- Ensure every vehicle is presented to customers in exceptional cosmetic condition.
- Maintain accurate records of repair status, vendor invoices, and completion timelines.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve vehicle presentation.
Qualifications
- Automotive dealership reconditioning experience required.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive detailing and cosmetic repair processes.
- Experience coordinating multiple vendors and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to inspect vehicles and identify cosmetic defects.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment.
- Proficient with dealership inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
