Per Diem: Offered only to candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the work location
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 10 years relevant aircraft avionics experience
- Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours
- Able to change physical locations based on need (including physical ability to travel)
- Ability to work under a variety of physical conditions
- Able to wear a respirator or other safety gear
- Ability to work in areas that could trigger phobias related to height or closed spaces
Position Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty
- Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical/engineering data, and specifications to determine repair or replacement methods
- Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair
- Skilled with aircraft-specific tools: test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and shears, etc.
- Provides technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers
- Reads and interprets schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Applies technical expertise to solve complex problems using blueprints and manufacturer manuals
- Troubleshoots and repairs aircraft mechanical components; determines functionality of non-complex electrical systems
- Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories
- Performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other scheduled inspections
- Examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders, oil leaks, and diagnoses malfunctions (e.g., sticking/burnt valves) by ear
- Inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burns, distortion, warping, wear, and missing segments
- Inspects turbine blades for cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks
- Tests engine operation using ignition analyzers, compression checkers, distributor timers, ammeters, and Jetcal testers
- Maintains and repairs flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components
- Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections
- Applies airframe/power plant systems knowledge to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment condition
- Performs servicing duties: flushing crankcases, cleaning screens/filters, greasing moving parts, checking brakes
- Uses basic electrical theory and manual hand tools (crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, heat shrink guns, etc.)
- Assembles, modifies, and installs wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components
Preferred Qualifications
- A&P License
- E-6B/707 experience
- Able to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance
Required Education
- High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school

Schedule: 4/10 work week — candidate must be able to work any of the following shifts (overtime potential on all):
