Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff during service, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes and presentation standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, showcasing strong knife skills and culinary techniques
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning by developing innovative dishes that align with restaurant themes and customer preferences
- Coordinate meal preparation for special events or catering orders, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality food
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles within food service settings
- Extensive kitchen experience with a focus on fine dining or upscale restaurant environments
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation across diverse cuisines
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering operations, and food industry best practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with front-of-house staff and kitchen team members
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
