American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in palliative care, requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.
-
Work on an 11th floor Palliative Care unit within a cancer hospital setting
-
Provide symptom management for patients undergoing treatment, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
-
Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
-
Potential for 12-hour rotating day/night contract with shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level

Uses Epic EMR system
-
Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required in hand at time of submission

Minimum 2 years of current acute care RN experience required in the specialty being applied for, with consistent work in the last 12 months

Required certification: BLS
-
Preferred certification: ACLS
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred

Skills required: cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE
-
Skills required: non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration via nasal cannula and oxygen tanks

Skills required: IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Enhance palliative care skills while gaining exposure to other high-acuity med surg units through floating

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Previous travel experience preferred but not required

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system

RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract
