Job Summary
Join our team where your role is vital in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of traffic on construction sites and roadwork zones. You will be responsible for directing vehicles and pedestrians, setting up traffic control devices, and maintaining a safe environment for workers and the public. This position offers an energetic work environment where proactive communication and attention to detail are key to success.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as signs, cones, barriers, and flagging equipment to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through construction zones.
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic using clear hand signals, flags, or stop/slow paddles according to established safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety compliance.
- Monitor work zones continuously for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, promptly addressing issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines, regulations, and procedures related to traffic control and construction site operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction site operations or traffic control is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, or similar machinery is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction processes such as paving or utility work enhances your effectiveness on-site.
- Ability to operate flagging tools confidently and follow safety protocols diligently.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure clear instructions are conveyed.
- MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 50LBS.
- MUST BE ABLE TO STAND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME.
- MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND INSURANCE.
- MUST HAVE RELIABLE PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION.
- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG TEST.
