About the Position
Bockmann Inc. is seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our growing team. We are currently expanding our asbestos abatement division and are looking for team members who are committed to safety, quality work, and following established procedures.
Previous asbestos abatement experience is preferred but not required. Bockmann Inc. provides company-paid training for qualified candidates.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely remove asbestos-containing materials in accordance with applicable safety standards and asbestos regulations.
- Prepare containment areas using plastic barriers, portable air-evacuation equipment, and filtration systems.
- Properly package, handle, transport, and dispose of asbestos-containing waste.
- Safely operate basic hand tools and jobsite equipment.
- Wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and project leaders.
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure work areas.
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite procedures.
- Travel occasionally to project locations as required.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screening.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be physically able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written directions.
- Must be able to safely use basic hand tools.
- Must be willing and able to travel occasionally.
- Must be able to attend and successfully complete a four-day asbestos worker training course.
- Previous asbestos abatement experience is preferred.
- Current asbestos worker certification is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual Preferred
Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
- Periodically lifting and carrying materials weighing between 10 and 50 pounds.
- Wearing a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
- Working in physically demanding conditions.
Work Environment
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in hot, cold, dusty, and physically demanding environments. Employees may be exposed to different types of terrain and varying jobsite conditions.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 10-hour shifts
- Overtime may be available or required depending on project needs.
- Occasional travel may be required.
