Journeyman-Level CNC Machinist II (Setup)
Pay Range: $30-$35/Hour | Permanent Position | 1st & 3rd Shift Openings, Fremont, OH

We are currently looking for skilled CNC Level II Machinists to join our team, focusing on the production of precision components for specialized machinery in a high-mix, low-volume setting.
Unlike standard production roles, this position avoids repetitive tasks. You will handle a diverse range of parts, typically in batches of 60, though some runs reach 500 units. Success in this role requires deep machining knowledge, precise blueprint interpretation, and expert setup capabilities.

Available Positions
CNC Mill Machinist - 1st Shift

Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Focus on CNC Mills with supplemental manual lathe and Bridgeport tasks
CNC Lathe Machinist - 3rd Shift

Hours: 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Operate in a 5-Axis Okuma VTL setting

Onboarding includes daytime training to ensure you are ready for the night shift
Core Responsibilities

Configure and run CNC mills or lathes utilizing Siemens and Heidenhain controls
-
Analyze technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production

Execute necessary tooling swaps and adjust offsets to maintain precision
-
Modify programs directly at the machine interface when adjustments are needed

Ensure parts meet specifications by verifying dimensions with precision tools
-
Maintain high quality standards by monitoring the production process

Help keep the shop running efficiently by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting

Assist with manual machining tasks to support overall team output

Collaborate effectively within our cross-functional machining department
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of hands-on CNC machining experience

Proven ability to perform complex setups on lathes or mills

Demonstrated skill in making program edits at the machine

Proficiency in reading blueprints and conducting inspections

Familiarity with Siemens or Heidenhain control systems is preferred

Exposure to CAM programming is considered a beneficial asset

Experience thriving in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments

Competency in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement devices

Journeyman certification is welcome but not mandatory
