The Public Works Department plays a key role in maintaining and improving the City’s infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors. The department oversees streets, traffic systems, landscaping, lighting, water, sewer, and storm drains, as well as City-owned facilities and vehicle fleets. Public Works also provides engineering, environmental compliance, and inspection services, manages capital improvement projects and recycling programs, and administers the City’s solid waste franchise. Committed to quality, efficiency, and sustainability, the department helps build a safe, resilient, and thriving community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, accounting, or a related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of responsible governmental administrative experience.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment.

Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.

Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects averaging a weight of 10 pounds.
