The School District of Niagara is seeking a passionate, student-centered, and collaborative Reading Specialist/Reading Interventionist to support literacy achievement for students in grades K–6 beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
Located in beautiful northeastern Wisconsin, the School District of Niagara is a PK–12 district serving approximately 470 students in a single school building. Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold or be eligible to obtain a Wisconsin DPI Reading Specialist License (#317/5017) or other appropriate Wisconsin reading licensure.
- Demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction and intervention practices.
- Have knowledge of Wisconsin Act 20 and its literacy requirements (preferred).
- Effectively analyze and use student assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, intervention staff, administration, and families to support student success.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide targeted reading intervention and enrichment opportunities for students in grades K–6.
- Deliver evidence-based literacy instruction through small-group and individual interventions.
- Administer, analyze, and interpret literacy screening and progress-monitoring assessments to identify student needs and measure growth.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to strengthen core literacy instruction and implement effective intervention strategies.
- Assist with the implementation of Wisconsin Act 20 literacy requirements and other state literacy initiatives.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the district's elementary literacy curriculum and instructional practices.
- Participate in Child Study Team, IEP, and other student support meetings as appropriate.
- Provide instructional coaching and professional learning opportunities to staff as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate student records, intervention documentation, and progress-monitoring data.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
