Description
This position is for an experienced wastewater service technician at King Septic Service, Inc. We are searching for a candidate to add to the team at our growing small business. An ideal candidate will work well with others and independently. You will be expected to service, troubleshoot, and repair many different types of septic, aeration, and wastewater pumping systems. Prior experience with septic systems, plumbing and electric is required.
An average work week is typically 40-45 hours but this can be more or occasionally but rarely less, depending on the amount of work scheduled. This is often a physically demanding job and it can be very rewarding. Lunch breaks are paid (field employees do not clock out for lunch). We do our best to take care of our employees and are working to build on the great team we currently have. We are hoping to find a candidate interested in a long-term career with us.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance
- Clean wastewater filters
- Some hand digging
- Operate backhoe/excavator
- Install new pumps and aerators (plumbing and wiring)
- Troubleshoot septic problems and electrical problems
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner
- Trustworthy to work efficiently without direct supervision
- Be available to work overtime as needed

Electrical Qualifications
- Proficient with multimeter – ability to test and interpret amperage, voltage, resistance and capacitance readings for maintenance and troubleshooting purposes
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace control panels for grinder lift stations, aerators and effluent pumps
- Ability to wire pumps and start kits
Plumbing Qualifications
- Repair/replace plumbing efficiently in tight quarters (typically PVC)
- Possess a general knowledge of PVC fittings necessary for repairs
Equipment Operating
- Safely and efficiently operate mini excavator and small backhoe
- Operate with finesse around tank, wiring and plumbing
Pay and Benefits
- The starting pay for this position is expected to range from $28 - $35/hour based on relevant experience although Additional compensation may be provided based on performance following a 60 day review.
