This position is for a Legal Assistant for one attorney and Receptionist.
You will be in a five-lawyer law firm with a 60+ year heritage.
The legal assistant position is for one attorney whose client base is both private clients and mediations:
- Which includes extensive scheduling and maintenance of the attorney’s calendar;
- Assisting in drafting, proofreading, and editing correspondences, documents, and pleadings from dictation and/or handwritten or typed text;
- Filing pleadings and documents with the court system;
- Maintaining case files and records; and
- Assisting in tracking, entry of attorneys’ billable time and monthly billing.
The receptionist answers incoming telephone calls, transferring calls, taking messages, greeting visitors, mail and deliveries, and other general office duties.
Skills and Abilities:
- General computer literacy
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Familiarity with time tracking and billing software
- Transcription from dictation and/or handwritten or typed text
- Familiarity with the law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time and under deadlines
- Ability to communicate professionally and work with others.
- Hard worker
Schedule: Monday to Friday, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with one-hour for lunch
Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) or High School Diploma. Education is not a substitute for two years working experience in a law firm.
This position requires walking up and down stairs multiple times a day.
No Travel Requirement

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
