About the Opportunity
Common Ground Hospitality is seeking an experienced, passionate, and driven Restaurant General Manager to lead one of our full-service restaurant concepts.
As General Manager, you are the leader of the restaurant and ultimately responsible for its people, culture, guest experience, and financial performance. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, develops great managers, understands the numbers behind a successful restaurant, and isn't afraid to jump in and lead from the floor when needed.
This is more than a day-to-day management position. Our General Managers are trusted leaders within Common Ground Hospitality and are given the opportunity to truly take ownership of their restaurant while being supported by an experienced multi-unit leadership team.
What You'll Be Responsible For Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the restaurant's management team and hourly employees.
- Build a positive, accountable culture focused on hospitality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain high-performing team members.
- Develop future leaders and create opportunities for internal advancement.
- Establish clear expectations and consistently hold managers and employees accountable.
- Lead by example and maintain a visible presence throughout the restaurant.
Restaurant Operations
- Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations, including both front-of-house and back-of-house performance.
- Ensure consistently excellent food quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality.
- Maintain appropriate staffing and scheduling based on business volume and operational needs.
- Ensure opening, closing, cash-handling, inventory, and other operational procedures are completed accurately.
- Maintain compliance with health, sanitation, food safety, alcohol service, and company standards.
- Proactively identify operational challenges and implement solutions before they impact the guest experience.
Financial Performance
- Take ownership of the restaurant's overall financial performance.
- Understand and manage the restaurant's P&L, including sales, labor, food cost, beverage cost, and controllable expenses.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales and profitability goals.
- Manage labor through effective scheduling, productivity, and staffing decisions.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, waste, comps, discounts, and cost-control procedures.
- Review financial and operational reporting regularly and take action when results are not meeting expectations.
Guest Experience
- Create a culture where exceptional hospitality is the expectation during every shift.
- Maintain a strong presence in the dining room and actively engage with guests.
- Respond to guest feedback professionally and use feedback as an opportunity to improve.
- Build relationships with regular guests and strengthen the restaurant's connection to the local community.
- Ensure every member of the team understands their role in creating a memorable guest experience.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably within a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or senior restaurant leader strongly preferred.
- Experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including P&Ls, labor, food and beverage costs, inventory, and budgeting.
- Proven ability to recruit, coach, develop, and retain strong teams.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance hospitality and team culture with accountability and financial performance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and making decisions in real time.
- Availability to work a flexible restaurant schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Experience with the following is a plus:
- Restaurant365 (R365)
- Toast POS
- Microsoft Excel
- Scheduling and labor-management systems
- High-volume restaurant operations
- Multi-concept or restaurant group experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $70,000–$85,000 per year, based on experience
