A podiatric medical assistant is a medical assistant who specialized in the field of podiatry, which is a branch of medicine that focuses on the foot, ankle, and lower leg. Medical assistants perform the routine activities for a physician in order to keep the medical office running smooth. THIS POSITION IS FOR PART TIME WITH TRANSITION TO FULL TIME
- Routine Nail care after training 3 months
- ordering, sorting, and storing supplies and restocking exam rooms
- cleaning exam areas,
- setting up instruments and equipment
- cleaning the sterilizer according to the maintenance schedule
- Applying casts and bandages
- Assisting with minor surgical procedures
- Obtaining basic vitals
- Collecting patient health information and inputting into EMR
- greeting patients, answering the office phones, performing data entry and scheduling appointment
- take and develop x-rays of the patient's legs, ankles or feet,
- cast for orthotics
- apply fiberglass casts to the ankle or foot
- helping elderly patients take off and put on their shoes and move around the exam area
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistants preferred
- Experience in Podiatry is a plus
- Computer skills and typing required. Previous experience utilizing an electronic medical record to carry out job duties preferred.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions.
- High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality
Job Types: Part-time, PRN
Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
