Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight across various routes, ensuring timely and secure deliveries. Your expertise in handling different types of trailers, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and freight loads, will be essential to maintaining our high standards of service. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Transport a variety of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other freight types while maintaining the integrity of the load.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with company policies.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and shipment documentation for compliance purposes.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial transportation; delivery driver experience is highly valued.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently.
- Familiarity with different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and freight loads.
- Skills in load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment when applicable.
- Knowledge of route planning and driving regulations for safe transportation across regions.
- Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
