Position Summary
Billings Rehab & Nursing is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and compassionate Cook / Prep Cook to join our Dietary Services team. The ideal candidate takes pride in preparing quality meals, enjoys helping others, and understands the importance of providing excellent service to our residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, portion sizes, and dietary requirements.
- Complete food preparation duties, including washing, cutting, measuring, portioning, and preparing ingredients.
- Follow resident-specific diets, food textures, allergies, and other dietary restrictions as directed.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served at the proper temperature and on schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, work areas, and food storage areas.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and infection-control practices.
- Properly label, date, store, and rotate food items.
- Assist with meal service, tray preparation, and serving residents as needed.
- Work cooperatively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and other departments.
- Respond positively to resident preferences and requests within facility guidelines.
- Help maintain an organized and efficient kitchen.
- Monitor food supplies and report shortages or concerns to the Dietary Manager.
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and applicable health and safety regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.

Qualifications
- Previous cooking, food service, restaurant, hospital, or nursing home experience preferred.
- Previous long-term care dietary experience is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to follow written recipes and instructions.
- Must be able to safely operate kitchen equipment after appropriate training.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
- Must be able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Must meet all facility and regulatory employment requirements.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling food, supplies, and equipment.
- Bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Working around hot food, ovens, grills, steam, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
