POSITION: Occupational Therapist – Summer School
LOCATION: Various
REPORTS TO: School Principal and/or Designee
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: This program is for special education students whose educational progress would be irreparably diminished and for whom serious regression and/or educational harm would result if a summer program were not provided.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered certified/licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in an educational setting dealing with severely handicapped children.
- Plan, direct, and administer an occupational therapy program for multi-handicapped students, per IEP of the students.
- Perform diagnostic occupational therapy, assessments and administer the necessary treatment.
- Instruct and demonstrate the exercises to students which are implemented at home as well as school, as prescribed by the student’s physician.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and efficient preparation of progress reports.
- Must be able to assist students that require lifting.
- Complete School Based Child Health Services (SBCHS) billing.
- Assist in following equipment return procedures to the student’s designated district school.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Summer school rate as per the HFSHP contract. No holidays, vacation or sick leave during this scheduled program period. Applicants who cannot work through the entire program due to scheduling conflicts should not apply.
Anticipated program dates are July 6, 2026 – July 31, 2026. The program will run Monday – Friday from 8:05 a.m. – 12:25 p.m. Location and hours of employment are subject to change based on student enrollment.
