We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Collections Specialist with proven experience in anesthesia billing and collections to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who understands the complexities of anesthesia claims and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance and patient balances related to anesthesia services
- Analyze and resolve denied or underpaid anesthesia claims
- Work directly with payers to ensure accurate reimbursement
- Review EOBs and payer guidelines specific to anesthesia billing (modifiers, time units, etc.)
- Collaborate with billing and coding teams to correct and resubmit claims
- Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements to increase collections
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of medical collections experience, with a strong focus on anesthesia billing
- In-depth knowledge of anesthesia coding, modifiers, and time-based billing
- Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Strong understanding of denial management and appeals processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
- Bi-Lingual is a plus
Preferred:
- Experience with anesthesia practice management systems
- CPC or related certification is a plus
