Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development
- Observe, assess, and document child progress to guide instruction
- Build strong, respectful partnerships with families
- Maintain compliance with licensing, health, and safety requirements
- Collaborate with teaching staff, family services, and specialists
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required or in progress, per Head Start requirements)
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet Head Start and state licensing requirements, including background checks
