FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Weighing and Packaging Technician to support production, weighing, packaging, batching, and quality-related documentation in a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for accurately weighing raw and finished products, supporting batch paperwork, packing and cleaning production equipment, coordinating with Quality and production teams, and following all safety and GMP requirements. The ideal candidate will have food manufacturing experience, scale and weighing experience, production experience, and the ability to work accurately in a team-oriented production environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Weighing raw products and finished products accurately using scales
- Supporting batching activities and batch paperwork
- Packing production flavor products as assigned
- Cleaning production flavor equipment
- Working with the Quality department for batch paperwork approvals
- Coordinating with the production team to support seamless product transitions
- Ensuring product is properly accounted for, reviewed by Quality, measured for batching, and prepared for shipping
- Communicating with production, quality, warehouse, and shipping departments as needed
- Following all safety regulations
- Following GMP requirements
- Maintaining accurate documentation and production records
- Supporting cleanliness and organization in production areas
- Performing other duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
- 2+ years of food manufacturing experience required
- Liquid and powder manufacturing experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience using scales and weighing finished and raw products required
- Production experience required
- Batching and batch paperwork experience required
- Ability to use scales for accurate weighing of products
- Ability to read and follow batch sheets
- Ability to learn warehouse locations from batch sheets
- Ability to communicate professionally with all departments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented work habits
- Ability to follow safety and GMP requirements
- Ability to work onsite in Commerce, CA
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and move throughout production, warehouse, and packaging areas during the shift
- Ability to lift, stack, pull, and move up to 35 pounds as needed
- Ability to move, pull, and push pallets using a pallet jack
- Ability to use scales and related production equipment accurately
- Ability to perform repetitive movements related to weighing, packing, batching, cleaning, lifting, stacking, and material handling
- Ability to read batch sheets, labels, production paperwork, and product information as needed
- Ability to work with raw materials, finished products, liquids, powders, packaging materials, and production equipment
- Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment while following safety and GMP procedures
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment as needed
Salary Range: $22 to $24/hour
