Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines. The role involves program editing, first-piece prove-outs, quality inspections, process optimization, and collaboration with Engineering to ensure efficient, high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and optimize 3-, 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines.
- Edit CNC programs, load NC files, adjust offsets, and manage cutting tools/tool life.
- Perform first-piece prove-outs, troubleshoot machining issues, and optimize processes.
- Read blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and manufacturing drawings.
- Conduct in-process inspections, record QA data, and perform calibration checks.
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth gauges).
- Ensure proper fixturing, tooling, and preventive machine maintenance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED; Machine Tool Technology preferred.
- Experience with CNC machine setup, programming edits, and operation.
- Proficiency with Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Fagor, or Siemens controls.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprints, CAD/CAM, and CNC operating systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
