Job Summary:
Big G Electric & Engineering is seeking an Operations Manager to run day-to-day field and project operations across the Permian Basin, covering West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. This is a hands-on, on-site role: the person owns crew performance, project execution, quality, and jobsite safety. The role also carries proposal and customer-facing responsibility — pricing bids, running client meetings, and representing Big G in the field — but the core of the job is running operations well. Operations
- Direct daily field operations for Big G Electric & Engineering crews across the Permian Basin, including West Texas and Southeast New Mexico.
- Manage project scheduling, crew assignments, and resource allocation to hit cost and schedule targets.
- Oversee installation, modification, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical hardware, instrumentation, and systems on active jobs.
- Enforce company safety standards, quality control processes, and compliance requirements on every jobsite.
- Track crew and project performance; resolve field issues before they become schedule or cost overruns.
- Serve as the face of Big G in the field — professional, responsive, and credible with clients, GCs, and operators.
Proposals & Customer Relationships
- Build and price bid proposals and estimates for new and existing work scopes, in coordination with estimating and leadership.
- Lead customer meetings and site walks; represent Big G professionally with operators, GCs, and existing clients.
- Maintain existing account relationships in the field to support customer retention and repeat work.
- Bring existing local relationships and market credibility in the Permian Basin to support the company's growth.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and/or automation systems in an industrial or oilfield setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage field crews and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong negotiation and consensus-building skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Solid technical writing and proposal development skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; CRM experience a plus.
- Self-starter who can operate independently with minimal oversight.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician license required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field, OR 8+ years of equivalent experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and/or Automation.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Experience in oil and gas, industrial electrical, or related field services required.
- Permian Basin native or long-term local resident strongly preferred, with existing relationships and market credibility in the region.
- Ability to pass a background check, SSN verification, and drug test.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout West Texas and Southeast New Mexico.
Office Location and Travel:
This position is on-site, based out of Monahans, TX, with regular field travel throughout the Permian Basin, including West Texas and Southeast New Mexico, to jobsites and client locations.

Working Environment & Conditions
This is an on-site, field-based position. Conditions include exposure to varying weather, noise, and industrial jobsite hazards consistent with oil and gas electrical work. The incumbent must be able to stand, walk, and move around active jobsites, use hands and arms for tools and equipment, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
