Duties
- Prepare lessons that meet educational requirements in an age-appropriate manner and teach in a manner that meets the needs for the ages and abilities of all participating students utilizing an inquiry-based approach
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports assigned age-range children (infants through 4-year old)
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies to ensure a respectful learning space.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections.
- Conduct assessments aligned with early childhood standards
- Incorporate Reggio Emilia educational philosophies into lesson planning to enhance learning experiences.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and incidents.
Requirements
- 1+ year experience working with children in preschool or childcare settings is essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage parents in their child’s educational journey
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required
- Knowledge of Judaism a plus, but not required
