Oversee and provide guidance on electrical and controls engineering design from conception through completion on discrete and process automation. Oversee the definition of scope, schedule, costs, and management of electrical cabinet design and build. Oversee and provide guidance on the development and implementation of advanced programming in industrial equipment in all IEC 61131-3 languages, focusing on structured text and ladder logic to ensure quality control of delivered software solutions. Perform final review and issue final approval over a methodology for maintaining PLC code structure and backups, and the design of robust, stable, fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery. Coordinate the management of Safety standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA), and implementation of controls for reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment. Perform final review and issue final approval of CAD designs and documentation for power and controls, including programmable logic controllers (PLC), I/O, control panels, human machine interface (HMI), variable frequency drives (VFD), networks, layouts and other applicable instrumentation loops and power information. Oversee the design and implementation of interface with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to communicate product acceptability, machine status and process variables, and the maintenance and development of engineering technical design guidelines, design standards, and pertinent electrical specifications. Lead bid process events with equipment vendors and General Contractors. Will work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Requires Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, or related and 5 years progressive experience.
