Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Schedule: Monday to Friday; shift times vary (6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM); includes a 1-hour break. Rotating Saturday coverage (hours vary).

Job Overview
We are seeking a experienced Phlebotomist II who demonstrates excellence in patient care, along with strong communication and collaboration skills with clients, team members, and leadership. This role requires a high level of independence, proven performance, and proficiency across a variety of healthcare settings. Candidates must be comfortable working with patients of all ages and adaptable to both patient service centers and clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients of all age ranges

Appropriately collect, label, and process specimens accurately for testing and transport

Accurately enter patient data, order choices, and specimen details into the system

Monitor inventory and maintain an organized, clean work environment

Support Team Lead with entry-level phlebotomists as needed

Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience

Proficiency in venipuncture and sample collection across all age ranges (including pediatrics)

Effective communication, customer service, and organizational skills

Proficient in email communication and basic computer functions

All candidates must pass a background check in compliance with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) guidelines

High school diploma; GED

National Phlebotomy Technician certification or LSBME licensure
Orion Laboratories is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist II in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This experienced role performs venipuncture, supports specimen collection and processing, ensures accurate data entry, and assists with team support in a clinical laboratory environment. Monday through Friday schedule with varying shifts and rotating Saturday coverage.
