Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning and curiosity through innovative teaching methods and learning technology tools.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful space for all students.
- Incorporate special education strategies and work with students with diverse needs, including those with autism or requiring early intervention services.
- Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing results to monitor student progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, tutoring programs, and library services to enhance student learning experiences.
- Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants by sharing best practices in classroom management, lesson planning, and child development principles.
- Engage families through clear communication about student progress and classroom activities to foster a strong home-school connection.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children in K-2 settings is essential; private school experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development theories such as Montessori or other early childhood frameworks.
- Proficiency in learning technology platforms and tools used for instruction and assessment.
- Strong skills in proofreading, writing, and curriculum development to ensure high-quality educational content.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or providing early intervention services is highly desirable.
- Background in behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies that promote positive student behavior.
