The Child Care Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering developmentally appropriate curriculum using the Reggio Emilia educational approach. This role supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children ages six weeks to six years, while ensuring compliance with licensing, accreditation, health, and safety standards.
Plan, develop, and implement classroom lesson plans aligned with Reggio principles
Support cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor skill development
Create and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
Observe, document, and report children’s daily progress and developmental milestones
Maintain accurate child records and written reports
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned
Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards
Implement infection control, environmental health, and safety procedures
Maintain classroom materials, toys, furniture, and play areas to minimize safety risks
Monitor playground and classroom supervision coverage
Prepare, label, store, and secure cleaning and bleach solutions per policy
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education
Collaborate with teachers, supervisors, and leadership teams
Support smooth transitions for children and families
Accept alternate assignments and assist with special projects as needed
