Dellner Couplers US (DCUS) is hiring for a Senior Sales Engineer. The position is based at our DCUS main sales/operations facility in Charlotte, NC, US. You will report to the Dellner Service Business Unit Manager, DCUS.
Overall mission
Provide comprehensive technical support working with our two Area Sales Managers in the Dellner Service (aftermarket) division. Take the initiative to clearly explain and promote our technical concepts to customers, build a strong understanding, and actively engage their technical teams to address any questions or concerns.
Main duties
- Prepare technical specifications for service projects, such as overhauls and spare parts contracts.
- Develop concepts and technical descriptions for new development projects, when applicable.
- Complete technical bid milestone tasks for projects, including bill of materials, clause-by-clause review, risk analysis, and gathering return-of-experience.
- Perform condition assessments on used equipment and present findings to customers.
- Assist Area Sales Managers with technical questions, concerns, and follow-up items from customers.
- Travel with and support ASMs during customer visits, technical reviews and site meetings as needed.
- Offer support as needed throughout the overhaul, repair, and development processes.
- Suggest and implement improvements to products, processes, and tools when necessary.
- Act as a technical mentor and provide support and training to other members of the organization.
- Maintain close cooperation with the Global Support Team based in our head office in Sweden.
- Work with the quality department to develop inspection plans and final test documentation.
- Act with transparency, ethical responsibility, and credibility. Upholds the company values while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and governance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Over 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the manufacturing or transit industry.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD, specifically Autodesk Inventor and Vault, is preferred.
- Strong technical understanding and customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to understand customer needs effectively, interact directly with technical teams, clearly explain recommendations to customers, and respond professionally to concerns.
- Willingness to be hands-on, whether helping a technician in the shop or troubleshooting issues in the field.
Physical Requirements
This position often involves operating a computer and managing written documents, including filing and retrieval. The physical demands of the role encompass standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, and bending.
