POSITION SUMMARY
The job of the Weekday Opening Activity Center Front Desk Attendant is to oversee building operations during the opening hours Monday through Friday. This position serves as the main contact for facility information and is responsible for safety, customer service, and following policy and procedures in the absence of the Activity Center Coordinator. The position provides guidance to part-time staff in the areas of the front desk, gym, game room, fitness center, member services, and closing responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this position successfully, employee must be able to perform each essential function and responsibility satisfactorily. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Use RecTrac to sell and maintain memberships, sell registrations for programs, and sell rentals and other products the Activity Center offers.
- Ensure all individuals entering the Activity Center are either students or members of the facility by monitoring the the front desk area.
- Collaborate with other on-campus departments as required.
- Provide guidance for all areas of the building and delegating tasks when appropriate.
- Responsible for the opening routine of the facility.
- Serve as point of contact for issues that arise in the building, complete reports as appropriate, report student misconduct to appropriate staff and liaison with outside emergency services as needed.
- Be prepared to answer questions from customers who are renting the facility. Ensure rental customers have all supplies needed from their rental agreements.
- Be knowledgeable about policies/procedures and be prepared to explain and enforce them.
- Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Organized and detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal and human relation skills
- Ability to effectively present information in a one on one and small group situation to Faculty, Staff, Supervisor and other part time employees

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or/and stand for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers. Employee must be able to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk to other locations on campus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close and long vision.
