Job Title: Business Development
Job Description: This position is responsible for cultivating business opportunities within the Federal Government by identifying, developing, leading, and managing client relations with key Federal Government agencies in the Washington DC area. Position works in collaboration with the Corporate Director of Federal Programs and other individuals in the firm’s Federal Market Sector.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead the Federal Government Business Team by taking an active role in the development of personnel

Assist the Managing Principal and Director of Operations in determining the personnel needs for the Government Business Team and individual projects based upon the current and projected workload
-
Work with Project Managers in evaluating scope, complexity, and scheduling requirements of projects.

Validate work planning strategies to ensure successful project execution

Must have a proven track record in negotiating new relationships/deals that meet revenue, profitability and goals

Skilled in developing and leading not only own team, but also peers and partners toward common goals and strategic objectives

Leads and has responsibility for securing the right documentation in order to perform due diligence process, review agreements prior to execution, make recommendations based on industry research and analysis and develop Request for Proposals (RFPs)

Thorough knowledge of various Federal purchasing vehicles (GSA schdules, GWACs, IDIQs) and the ability to define and implement a strategy for contract development and closure

Aggressively mine” Indefinite Delivery Contract capacity held by the company

Must possess highly entrepreneurial skills and the ability to work closely with executives and employees at resilience and initiative

Establishes long-term, highly visible partnerships with companies and other organizations that add value to LAD. Supports business-to-business development.

Informs and educates senior leadership about business development opportunities

Use established relationships with key members/decision makers with various Federal purchasing agencies to set up meetings with LAD senior leadership

Identify leads for upcoming opportunities with appropriate Federal Government agencies

Develop and position the firm for responding to appropriate government solicitations
-
Evaluation and go/no go process for solicitations for AE services

Participate in the SF330 or other appropriate response to active pursuits in collaboration with marketing staff and project personnel

Actively pursue relationships with partnering firms in pursuit of federal business opportunities; these may include large or small businesses as well as design or construction firms

Qualifications Bachelor’s in Architecture or Engineering and professional registration

Min 15 years mid to large size A/E firm experience. Min 5 years in a similar role with proven track record of success and revenue growth

Strong Washington DC beltway contacts in the Federal Sector

Business Development mind set and strong desire to excel

Strong ability to communicate and coordinate actions within the office across geographical locations

Excellent client management, customer service orientation, and writing and presentation skills.
