Bayou Healthcare Staffing Services, LLC is seeking experienced, compassionate, and dependable Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide exceptional patient care in several Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospitals throughout Louisiana. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses seeking flexible scheduling while caring for medically complex patients in a high-acuity environment.
As a PRN (per deim shifts) LTAC RN, you will work alongside physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide quality patient care while maintaining the highest standards of nursing practice.Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to medically complex patients.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as ordered.
- Care for patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, wound vacs, central lines, feeding tubes, and other complex medical needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and rehabilitation staff.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient status.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge goals.
- Follow facility policies, Joint Commission standards, OSHA regulations, HIPAA requirements, and infection prevention protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Louisiana Registered Nurse License or active multistate Compact RN License.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification.
- ACLS Certification preferred (or required by facility).
- Minimum one (1) year of recent RN experience in one or more of the following:
- LTAC
- ICU
- PCU/Step-Down
- Med-Surg
- Telemetry
- Acute Care Hospital
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different healthcare environments.
