Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924. Scripps La Jolla shares a campus with the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. We’re also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.
This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period, every 2 weeks) position on a 12-hour NIGHT shift schedule working variable days of the week including weekends and holidays.
Position floats between Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.
This position covers both Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum.

As a Registered Nurse for the Maternal Child Health Float Pool team, you will provide direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. In addition…
- Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
- The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
Preferred Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- EPIC experience.
- RNC-OB.
Required Experience/Specialized Skills:
- 1 year experience in Labor & Delivery AND Post-Partum
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current CA RN License
- Current BLS-C provider from American Heart Association
- Current Advanced NRP (AAP-Issued 7th or 8th edition)
- Current Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring from AWHONN or NCC
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
- Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
