Registered Nurse (RN) – District School Health Lead
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as the clinical leader for all student health services across Exalt Academy. The RN is responsible for coordinating, delivering, and overseeing healthcare services for all students across all campuses.
This role includes direct supervision and management of Medical Assistants (MAs), as well as ownership of health-related systems, including staff scheduling, parent communication, and compliance. The RN ensures consistent, high-quality, and compliant health services across the district.
Key Responsibilities
Student Health Services
- Provide direct medical care, first aid, and emergency response to students and staff.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant student health records.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parent/guardian communication regarding student health needs, care plans, and follow-up.
District Health Leadership
- Directly supervise and manage Medical Assistants (MAs) across all campuses, including performance, accountability, and daily operations.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality health practices and compliance across all schools.
- Establish, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures for student health services.
- Oversee health documentation systems and ensure accuracy and consistency across campuses.
Staffing & Scheduling
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate health service coverage across all campuses.
- Adjust staffing and coverage based on student needs and campus demands.
- Participate in hiring, interviewing, and selection of Medical Assistants and health staff.
- Support onboarding, training, and performance management of all health staff.
Training & Staff Development
- Train, coach, and evaluate MAs in:
- Medical procedures
- Documentation practices
- Student care protocols
- Ensure all health staff are aligned with district expectations, policies, and standards.
- Provide ongoing professional development and support.
Campus Oversight & Support
- Maintain a regular presence across all campuses to monitor operations, support staff, and ensure quality of care.
- Respond to urgent health needs and provide clinical guidance as needed.
- Ensure consistent implementation of health protocols across all locations.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations.
- Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with school leadership on safety protocols and student wellness initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arkansas (required)
- Experience in pediatric, school, or community health preferred
- Prior experience supervising or managing staff is strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple campuses, staff, and priorities effectively
Work Schedule
Full-time, school-year schedule aligned with the Exalt Academy calendar
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
