Our ideal candidate plays a vital role in supporting the launch and ongoing success of Washington, DC’s newest full-service hospital. As part of a dynamic and mission-driven team, the Float Pool RN delivers high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple units based on real-time staffing needs. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of care and operational excellence by providing safe, evidence-based nursing practice in alignment with CHRMC’s commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and community impact. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and demonstrates strong clinical versatility, adaptability, and the ability to seamlessly integrate into diverse specialty areas.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia (or compact license eligible for DC licensure)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in at least one critical care area, including ICU, Emergency Department (ED), or Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED)
- Demonstrated ability to float between a minimum of two (2) units, including Medical-Surgical and one (1) critical care unit
- Proven ability to quickly adapt to different unit workflows, teams, and varying patient acuity levels
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a patient-first mindset
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and/or PALS required based on assigned units
