Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client progress to inform ongoing treatment strategies.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, and toileting, to enhance independence.
- Support teaching sessions that focus on communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors tailored to each child's needs.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation, including care plans, progress notes, and behavioral records, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate closely with BCBA supervisors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions.
- Create a safe, engaging environment that encourages positive behavior management and promotes client well-being.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and support patient care routines.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance.
- Skilled in data collection methods to monitor client progress accurately.
- Excellent teaching abilities combined with patience and compassion for working with people with special needs.
