Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Support classroom management by helping implement lesson plans and activity schedules
- Step into different classrooms as needed, providing coverage for staff breaks or absences
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and daily experiences
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid procedures
- Support with child supervision during outdoor play, meal times, nap times, and transitions
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment that promotes childhood development and social-emotional growth
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in preschool, daycare, or early childhood settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid highly preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom needs and support multiple age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, behavior management strategies, and early childhood education best practices
- Previous nannying or babysitting experience demonstrating responsibility in child supervision
