Job Title: Class A Local Truck Driver

Position Overview
Xpress Global Systems (XGS) is seeking experienced Class A Local Truck Drivers to support our transportation and logistics operations. This role is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient movement of freight within a defined local radius while maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations and company standards.
Compensation

Pay Range: $24.60 per hour

Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable laws

Additional Earnings: Potential for safety bonuses and performance incentives (where applicable)
Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for local deliveries and pickups

Load, unload, and secure freight to prevent damage during transport

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance issues promptly

Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies

Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet service expectations

Maintain accurate logs for mileage, fuel, deliveries, and hours of service (HOS)

Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status and any delays or issues
-
Provide professional, customer-focused service during all interactions

Assist with warehouse duties, inventory handling, and basic equipment maintenance as needed

Maintain a clean and organized truck and work environment
Minimum Qualifications
-
Must be at least 23 years old
-
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
-
Minimum 24 months of verifiable Class A driving experience within the last 3 years (or 36 months within 5 years)
-
Clean driving record:
-
No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
-
No serious violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, excessive speeding, leaving the scene, etc.)
-
No more than:
-
2 at-fault accidents in the past 36 months
-
3 at-fault accidents in the past 60 months
-
Ability to read, speak, and write English per FMCSA requirements
-
Must pass:
-
DOT drug screen
-
DOT physical (minimum 6-month certification)
-
Company road test
-
Strong understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service compliance

Ability to operate tractor-trailers and navigate using GPS and routing tools
Preferred Qualifications

Local delivery experience
-
Forklift certification and experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to lift and move freight up to 50 lbs

Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing
-
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
