Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, and hardware using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpret technical drawings and building plans to ensure precise installation and repairs that meet building code compliance.
- Conduct glass installation for windows or panels within garage doors when required.
- Perform electrical work related to door openers and safety sensors following electrical codes and safety standards.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with door mechanisms and perform mechanical repairs efficiently.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when installing or replacing large garage door components or hardware.
- Use welding equipment or metal stud framing techniques for custom or structural modifications as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work site.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and addressing client questions professionally.
- Assist with remodeling projects involving door hanging, fixture installation, cabinet installation, or caulking as part of broader construction tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or handyman roles with a focus on door installation or remodeling projects.
- Hands-on experience with glass installation, metal stud framing, welding, or electrical work is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for construction or renovation projects.
- Knowledge of building code requirements related to garage doors and general construction site safety practices.
- Prior experience working on construction sites or performing heavy lifting tasks safely is preferred.
- Strong mechanical repair skills combined with excellent customer service abilities are essential for success in this role.
