Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software (Eaglesoft).
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing chairside support.
- Handle patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories, updating records, and explaining treatment plans clearly.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately.
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims efficiently.
- Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, dental coding (CPT), and documentation review to ensure precise record keeping.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental office setting or medical clinic environment with familiarity in dental terminology and medical administrative support.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Eaglesoft, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of dental billing procedures, insurance verification processes, and familiarity with CPT coding.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Prior experience with dental software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
