We are seeking experienced and highly organized Project Manager who can confidently oversee multiple residential construction projects from pre-construction through final completion. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of project success.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing residential construction projects while maintaining quality standards, budgets, schedules, and client satisfaction. This role requires exceptional communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing custom homes, major renovations, and additions, and can effectively coordinate homeowners, subcontractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
This position reports directly to the CEO and serves as a key operational leader within the company. The Project Manager will be entrusted with significant responsibility and autonomy while maintaining regular communication regarding project performance, client satisfaction, budgets, schedules, and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage multiple residential construction projects simultaneously from pre-construction through closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and milestone tracking
- Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, conflicts, and risks
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Track project financials, including job costing, invoicing, forecasting, and change orders
Construction Coordination
- Coordinate all phases of construction, including scheduling, inspections, material procurement, and subcontractor activities
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, engineering, and construction plans
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor quality, safety, workmanship, and progress
- Coordinate permit applications, plan check corrections, inspections, and project approvals
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and jurisdiction requirements
Client & Team Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners throughout the project
- Provide regular project updates and manage client expectations
- Resolve issues quickly and professionally
- Work closely with designers, architects, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners and suppliers
- Works closely with accounting department to ensure subcontractor invoices are paid and materials purchased.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the CEO and Owner of Providence Construction Group.
- Responsible for providing weekly project status updates to the CEO, including schedule performance, budget status, change orders, upcoming milestones, risk assessments, and project issues requiring executive attention.
- Works closely with the CEO to prioritize resources, resolve escalated project challenges, and ensure company objectives are achieved.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction project management experience
- Proven experience managing custom homes, major remodels, additions, and renovations
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and building systems
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, engineering, and construction plans
- Experience working with permits, inspections, plan checks, and local municipalities
- Strong budgeting, job costing, forecasting, and change order management experience
- Excellent communication, leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with clients and trade partners
Technology Requirements
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
- Buildertrend or similar construction management software
- WhatsApp
- Smartphone and mobile technology proficiency
- Ability to quickly learn company software and systems
Additional Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Fluent English, written and verbal
- Ability to pass professional reference checks
- Ability to regularly commute to Cerritos and project sites throughout Los Angeles and Orange County
- Candidates residing within approximately 30 minutes of Cerritos are preferred

- Existing network of qualified residential subcontractors and vendors
- Experience working with design-build firms
- Experience serving high-end residential clientele

Work Location: In Person (Cerritos, CA and project sites throughout Los Angeles and Orange County).
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
