Schedule & Pay
- Full-time schedule
- Option A: Monday–Friday, 2-10 pm
- Option B: 6-8 flexible hours Sunday, then Monday-Thursday, 2-10 pm
- Competitive hourly pay (commensurate with experience), paid training, employee discount, free meal during shifts
- Extra hours expected during high seasons (weeks leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas)
Position Overview
- We’re hiring an experienced Second-Shift Baker to run late afternoon and evening production.
- This role produces breads, cakes, pastries, and assorted desserts.
- Training in our recipes and gluten-free techniques will be provided.
- This position requires someone who is comfortable working alone for half of their shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce a wide variety of baked goods: sandwich breads, baguettes, rolls, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, scones, pies, cheesecakes, cookies, cupcakes, and cakes.
- Mix, portion, proof, bake, cool, and finish products to recipe and quality standards
- Prepare batters, doughs, frostings, and fillings; color icings using natural dye alternatives as needed
- Assemble and prepare orders for delivery/pickup
- Monitor bake schedules, oven performance, and product quality; adjust as needed for consistent results
- Maintain production records, rotate inventory, and communicate product needs to management/FOH
- Follow strict gluten-free and allergen-handling protocols, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Clean and maintain equipment and workstations; assist with receiving and storage as needed
- Collaborate with other bakers and FOH to ensure display cases are stocked and orders are fulfilled on time
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial bakery (bread and pastry/cake experience required), or graduate of a culinary institute.
- Strong baking fundamentals: dough handling, proofing, oven management, cake decorating skills
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and produce consistent, high-quality products at scale
- Comfortable working evenings and standing for the full shift; able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Enjoys working independently for most of the shift; detail-oriented, reliable, organized, and a good team player when collaboration is required
