Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to assist the Executive Housekeeper in leading the daily operations of our housekeeping department. This position plays a key role in ensuring guest rooms and public areas consistently meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation while supporting a positive guest experience. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, inspecting guest rooms, providing training and coaching, and helping maintain efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who leads by example, communicates effectively, and is committed to maintaining brand standards while fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily cleaning activities of housekeeping staff to ensure all areas meet established standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations
- Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and foster a positive team environment that promotes teamwork and accountability
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, laundry areas, and custodial facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Open communication with the executive housekeeper, general manager and operations manager regarding staff issues, concerns, and positive staff feedback.
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and janitorial equipment; place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels
- Address guest requests or complaints promptly with professionalism and courtesy to enhance overall guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial services within a hospitality or hotel setting
- Supervising or management experience in housekeeping or related fields is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, laundry processes, and commercial cleaning equipment
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with staff and interact with guests when necessary
