American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
-
13-week assignment with a 36-hour work week over 3 days per week
-
Day shift schedule from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
-
2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with call shifts lasting 13 hours and an expectation to be onsite within one hour
-
2-week night rotation required for all travelers
-
No block scheduling available

Uses Epic EMR
-
Active RN license (Illinois) in good standing required
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)

Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
-
ASN required; BSN preferred
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
-
TNCC certification highly preferred

Serve as a professional caregiver responsible for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process and current nursing trends

Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families

Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous patient assessment
-
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient documentation for care continuity
-
Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote a safe, healing environment for patients, families, and staff
-
Report and correct safety hazards as part of ongoing patient and staff safety responsibilities

This is a high-risk department assignment
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
-
RTO not to exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
