Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting patient care by ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, particularly in acute and critical care settings.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications for patients, including IV infusions.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns related to medication administration.
- Maintain accurate records of medication distribution and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
- Support the pharmacy team in managing inventory, including ordering, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates of medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication therapy management.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to enhance pharmacy operations and patient safety.
- Educate patients on proper medication usage, including inhalation techniques for respiratory therapies.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred, especially in acute or critical care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and pharmacy practices.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using pharmacy software systems and technology for medication management.
