Duties
- Support children with their daily routines, including feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene (assisting with ADLs).
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, socialization, and fun.
- Monitor children’s safety at all times, ensuring a secure environment.
- Assist with behavioral management strategies to foster positive interactions and development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any notable observations regarding the child's health or behavior.
- Support medication administration under supervision when required and trained.
- Collaborate with team members to create individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Skills
- Prior experience in child care, assisted living, or home & community care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification to ensure immediate response in emergencies.
- Familiarity with assisting children or adults with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities and support their unique needs effectively.
- Experience in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic health assessments.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to operate electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation purposes.
