Position Overview
The Saw Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining saw equipment to cut materials according to production specifications. This role ensures accurate measurements, proper machine setup, and consistent output to support the production workflow. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to work safely in a fast-paced environment supporting our Custom Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate saw machine to cut materials according to specified measurements and production requirements
- Read and interpret work orders and measurements accurately
- Set up, calibrate, and adjust saw machinery for various sizes
- Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality and accuracy
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all safety procedures
- Handle materials, load/unload stock, and move finished pieces to designated areas
- Document production output and report any discrepancies or equipment issues
- Assist with general warehouse or production tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience operating a saw or similar cutting machinery preferred
- Mechanical background or strong mechanical aptitude required
- Ability to perform basic math (fractions, measurements, conversions)
- Familiarity with reading tape measures, blueprints, or cut sheets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work safely around machinery and follow all safety protocols
- Must be bilingual
