A growing and well-established commercial real estate owner/developer is seeking an experienced Real Estate Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting function for a diverse property portfolio throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity reporting directly to the CFO with responsibility for overseeing property accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and managing the month-end close process.
Requirements:
- CPA required
- 7+ years of progressive real estate accounting experience
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience
- Strong Yardi Voyager experience required
- Experience with commercial real estate portfolios
- Thorough understanding of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, CAM reconciliations, and month-end close
- Advanced Excel skills
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all property and corporate accounting activities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Supervise month-end and year-end close
- Review budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
- Oversee cash management and banking relationships
- Coordinate annual audits and tax support
- Develop and mentor the accounting team
- Partner with executive leadership on acquisitions, refinancings, and process improvements
Compensation & Benefits:
