Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, limousines, and specialized medical transport vehicles on local routes.
- Ensure compliance with all state transportation regulations and company policies during every trip.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous and professional customer service at all times.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to ensure timely arrivals at scheduled destinations.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility aids or luggage while maintaining safety protocols.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers and clients to coordinate schedules, relay important information, and address any concerns during transit.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or bus driver is highly preferred; experience with chauffeur or limousine driving is a plus.
- Proven track record operating passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, or school buses in compliance with traffic laws and safety standards.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to optimize efficiency.
- Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team coordination.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including assisting passengers with mobility needs or heavy luggage.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to ensure ongoing safety and reliability of assigned vehicles.
