Unarmed Security Officer – Hotel Security

Shift: 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM
Pay Rate: $17.00 – $21.00 per hour

Position Overview
Harken Security is actively hiring a dedicated and professional Evening/Overnight Security Officer to serve at a hotel property. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property. The ideal candidate will be highly observant, reliable, and capable of managing late-night responsibilities with professionalism and integrity.
We are currently hiring Full-Time Guards, Part-Time Guards, and Security Supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular interior and exterior foot patrols throughout the hotel property.
- Monitor hotel entrances, exits, parking areas, and common spaces.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assist guests, visitors, and hotel staff as needed.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and emergencies in accordance with company and client procedures.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Communicate effectively with hotel management, guests, and fellow security personnel.
- Request emergency services in response to medical, fire, or criminal activity
- Maintain a visible presence and act as a deterrent during overnight hours.
Supervisor Responsibilities (Supervisor Positions Only)
- Oversee security operations during assigned shifts.
- Provide guidance, support, and direction to security officers.
- Ensure officers are completing patrols, reports, and assigned duties.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client representatives and management.
- Assist with training, coaching, and performance monitoring of security staff.
- Respond to escalated incidents and prepare required documentation.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to stay alert and on-foot for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site
- Must be able to handle emergency or high-pressure situations professionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hotel security experience.
- CPR, First Aid, or AED certification.
- Prior supervisory experience for supervisor applicants.
Position Notes
- Uniforms and site-specific training will be provided.
- Position requires overnight availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
